RoHS is a mandatory standard set by the EU legislation, its full name is (Restriction of Hazardous Sudstances in the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) .This standard has been in July 1, 2006 Began to formally implement, mainly for the standardization of electrical and electronic products, materials and process standards, to make it more beneficial to human health and protection. The purpose of this standard is to eliminate six substances of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and brominated polyphenylene oxides in motor and electronic products. The EU Parliament and the European Commission issued the (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive) (WEEE Directive) and the (Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) (the RoHS Directive) on February 13, 2003 (Official Gazette) instruction)


The main contents of the RoHS directive revision are:
1. changed the wording of the law and clarified the scope and definition of the directive;
2. The introduction of the product's CE mark and EC declaration of conformity;
3. phased into the medical equipment, control and monitoring instruments into the scope of the RoHS directive.
There was no change in the six hazardous substances that were restricted, but four substances - HBCDD, DEHP, and phthalic acid benzyl ester ( BBP) and butyl phthalate (DBP) - require prior evaluations in order to examine whether future inclusion of restricted substances.

RoHS Range:
Only new products on the market starting July 1, 2006, including incandescent lamps and light sources for home use.
Special instructions or regulations on safety and health requirements should not be violated - Vehicle ELV, Automotive Directive 91/157 / EEC, 93/86 / EEC & 98/101 / EC and excludes: medical equipment or monitoring equipment (WEEE Directive 8,9). Maintenance spares put on the market before July 1, 2006, and reused products put on the market before July 1, 2006.
Restricted Toxic Substances: Heavy Metals: Lesd Lead; Mercury Mercury; Cadmium Cadmium; -Chromium (VI) Hexavalent Chromium.
Certain embroidery flame retardants: Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB's); Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE'S)
The maximum limits are: Cadmium: 0.01% (100ppm) Lead, Mercury, Hexavalent Chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls, Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers: 0.1% (1000ppm)
